Homeless Youth Services
Students experiencing homelessness absorbs education differently from their peers. The challenges they face are disruptive to their education and social life. For the purpose of ensuring school stability, school access, and academic achievement, our office provide services designed to address the educational needs of youth experiencing homelessness.
Student Support Services
- iPlan Education Resource Guide Presentation
- Provide transcript review to determine
- A-G and graduation requirements/progress
- Assist in determining Graduation
- Waiver eligibility and partial credit recovery
- Request missing records and deliver to school registrar
- FAFSA/CADAA/Chafee Grant Application
- College application assistance and submission
- Assist with college support program applications and program referral
- Create California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) account
- Check college email, complete required forms for Financial Aid, and complete New Student Orientation
- Homeless Youth legislation and rights
- Community Resource Connection
Other Support Services
- Advocates for homeless children's educational needs
- Provides trainings on the McKinney-Vento Act and the Education of Homeless Children and Youth
- Provides consultation, technical assistance, and support to school districts and agencies
- Collaborates locally and state-wide to improve academic outcomes for homeless children and youth
